Connect. Persuade. Build trust.

For individuals and organisations, in-person and online.

In today’s hybrid world of work, great communication is paramount. Knowledge workers must learn to move fluidly between in-person and on-camera forms of public speaking. I combine expertise in voice and speech, actor training, storytelling, and video communication.

Individuals: For executives, academics, politicians, religious leaders, artists, educators, and anyone for whom public speaking plays a key vocational role. I help speakers develop clear messages and authentic public personas. I bring together physical voice and speech workouts and objective-driven acting exercises that will help clients unleash their natural voice, connect with the audience, overcome fear of judgement, and gain the confidence they need to express themselves clearly and charismatically.

Organisations: For hybrid, flexible, and fully-distributed businesses. As Artistic Director of mmhmm, I help teams transform the way they collaborate and connect through synchronous and asynchronous video communication.

Experience: I was Founding Director of the Program in Speaking and Learning at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching at Harvard University. I coached professors across the university and gave workshops on the lecture as performance, the dynamics of classroom discussion, the role of the physical voice in student learning, and structuring clear presentations. I have worked as a voice, speech, & dialect coach on Broadway, in regional theatres, and for film & television. I also specialize in Empowering International Speakers.

I have been a communication consultant for clients at a variety of public and private sector companies including:

  • Affiliated Managers Group (AMG)

  • American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)

  • Harvard Law School

  • Harvard Medical School

  • Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)

  • Random House Books

  • Shubert Organization (Broadway)

  • University School of Nashville (K-12 educators)

  • Vanderbilt Medical School

  • Yacktman Asset Management
