Distributed Higher Education

The once sharp divisions between in-person and online teaching in higher education are blurring. We are seeing a burst of educator-led innovation that is setting the groundwork for distributed teaching models and the hybrid campus.

I joined Phil Libin and Brittney Gallagher as guest-host for Episode 9 of Degrees of Freedom: Making the Out-of-Office World. Phil talks about his experience co-teaching a “fully distributed” university course and his students express their views on distributed education.

Also in this episode, Phil and course co-teacher Matt Waller, Dean of the Walton College of Business, talk with Enrique Dans, Professor of Innovation at IE Business School in Madrid, about integrating digital technology as a way to support flexibility for all students, whether campus-based or distance learners.
